When we started building Dripyard as a business, we had a clear objective: Drupal developers should be able to move fast without giving up the things that make it Drupal. Structured content, editorial control, accessibility, open-source ownership, and long-term maintainability should not be traded away just because a project has a tight timeline or limited budget.
The Global Carbon Pricing Challenge relaunch from Tojio, also published as a Drupal.org case study, is our first public case study. It is a strong example of why we think Dripyard Themes + Drupal Canvas is such a powerful combination.
Tojio migrated the Global Carbon Pricing Challenge website from Squarespace to Drupal CMS in just four weeks. The site needed to preserve the existing content and corporate design, while also meeting requirements around accessibility, SEO, consent management, GDPR-compliant hosting, and long-term ownership.
Dripyard gave Tojio a solid foundation to build from rapidly. Instead of starting with a blank Drupal install and making every architectural decision from scratch, the team could begin with a site template that already brought structure, components, and sensible defaults to the project.
That foundation is the same direction we are taking with our public site templates, including the Meridian Charter School Drupal Site Template, which shows how a polished Drupal CMS build can start from a complete, reusable base instead of a blank canvas.
A strong foundation for a real project
The Global Carbon Pricing Challenge is an international initiative advocating for effective carbon pricing, with a goal of 60% of global emissions being covered by carbon pricing by 2030. As the initiative entered its second phase in 2026, with Sweden taking over the chair from Canada, the website needed a new platform quickly.
The previous site ran on Squarespace, and the editing experience needed to remain approachable. At the same time, GCPC needed more control over data, more flexibility in the content model, and a stronger foundation for future development.
The project brief was direct: move the site to Drupal CMS in four weeks, keep the existing design and content largely intact, and make sure the finished site could support modern web requirements from day one.
That is exactly the kind of project Dripyard was built to support.
Drupal CMS provided the acceleration
Drupal CMS and our site templates have made it much easier to start with a sensible, preconfigured Drupal foundation. Recipes reduce the amount of repetitive setup work that used to slow down early project phases, and the newer site-building experience gives teams a much shorter path from a blank install to a useful editorial system.
For GCPC, that mattered. The team needed Drupal to be useful immediately, while still leaving room for the future.
That is where Drupal CMS and Dripyard fit together well. Drupal CMS accelerates the starting point. Dripyard adds a ready-made visual and architectural foundation that can be adapted instead of invented from scratch.
The Dripyard site template helped Tojio build more, faster
The Tojio case study notes that the project needed accessibility, SEO, consent management, open-source ownership, and GDPR-conscious hosting. With Drupal CMS and a Dripyard site template, the team also delivered a component-based build with Single Directory Components, Drupal Canvas integration, reusable UI patterns, and a backend experience that editors could actually use.
That is the practical value of a strong site template. It is not just a nice-looking starter theme. It is a set of decisions that have already been made, tested, and organized so the project team can spend its time on the parts that are specific to the client.
You may wonder why the Meridian Charter School Drupal Site Template was used for this project. Meridian Theme provides all of the Single Directory Components and design tokens for the site, but the site template extends the theme to add predefined content types, field definitions, views, and more. By using the site template, as opposed to just the theme, Tojio had an extra head start on configuring Drupal with a solid information architecture and matching Twig templates for presentation.
That is also why we keep investing in templates like Meridian Charter. The goal is to give agencies and teams a strong starting point that can still become a custom client experience.
Canvas improved the editor experience
One of the strongest parts of the GCPC build is the split between structured content and flexible page assembly. Recurring content such as news and events can live as normal Drupal content items. Top-level pages can be assembled in Drupal Canvas from reusable components.
That gives editors the best of both worlds. They can manage repeatable content in the backend where Drupal is strongest, and they can assemble campaign-style or informational pages visually when the page itself needs more layout flexibility.
For a team coming from Squarespace, this matters. The goal was not only to migrate content into Drupal. The goal was to give editors a better long-term platform while keeping day-to-day editing clear and approachable.
Open source speed with long-term ownership
This project is a useful example of open-source speed. In four weeks, Tojio delivered a Drupal CMS site that is accessible, GDPR-conscious, component-based, and ready to grow. The project kept the organization in control of its platform while giving editors a strong working experience.
That is the part I am most excited about from the Dripyard perspective. This is speed achieved by starting from better defaults. Drupal CMS, Dripyard, Canvas, and reusable components gave the team a foundation they could trust and extend.
A foundation with room for what comes next
The GCPC site now has a foundation that can support future sections, new landing pages, automation-ready workflows, and continued editorial growth. The Drupal.org case study also notes the use of tools such as ECA and Klaro Cookie & Consent Management, which point toward a platform that can keep evolving as requirements change.
That is exactly what we want Dripyard projects to feel like. Fast enough to meet real deadlines. Structured enough to keep developers happy. Flexible enough for editors. Open enough that the organization keeps control.
Special thanks to Tojio for proving this combination on a real project, under a real deadline, for a real international initiative. We built Dripyard because we believe Drupal can be both premium and practical. GCPC is a great example of that belief making it into production.
