What is the Drupal Certified Partner (DCP) Program?
The DCP program was created to incentivize the makers (as opposed to takers) within the Drupal ecosystem. The ultimate goal of the project is to enable potential customers to recognize the value of organizations that are contributing to Drupal.
There are several different tiers, starting from “bronze”, and going all the way up to “top tier”.
Organizations are placed into a tier based on the amount of weighted contribution credits they earn within the past twelve months. The top tier organizations tend to be large and often have employees working on Drupal full time.
We’re silver level!
Dripyard comes in at the “Silver” level with 700+ weighted credits over the past year, which is super respectable for an organization with only two people! Most of our contributions have been to Drupal Core, Canvas, with the remaining being spread out across a number of modules that Andy and I contribute to when needed.
Why is this important?
The Drupal Association handles a huge amount of behind the scenes work for the community and for Drupal itself. They run and operate Drupal.org, coordinate marketing and legal support, organize DrupalCons, and take on many other responsibilities that most people never see.
There is always more that people wish they could take on. Talk to anyone who has been around the community for a while and you will hear something like, “They need to do xyz.” For me, that is a revamp of Drupal’s documentation.
However, the Drupal Association operates with a skeleton crew. The team is often described as “small but mighty”. They do an amazing job and we simply need more of them.

If you are an organization like Dripyard, you can join the DCP program starting at $1,500 US for companies with one to five employees.
If you're a regular person, you can join the Ripple Makers, and give as much as you’re comfortable with.
