Preparing Dripyard themes for Drupal Canvas

At Dripyard we’ve been preparing our premium Drupal themes for Canvas. If you haven’t heard, Drupal Canvas is Drupal’s next-generation page builder built to rival tools like Gutenberg, Webflow, and AEM.

With Canvas, Drupal’s page-building capabilities finally match its powerful content modeling system. It feels fresh, intuitive, and fast compared to previous approaches.

Our work preparing for Canvas

During our preparation, we’ve created fixed bugs, developed new components, and filed more than 20 issues ranging from small papercuts to major stability blockers.

We’re committed to supporting Canvas from the day it becomes stable. If you want to get a head start, version 1.0.5 of both our themes is now available with new features, fixes, and improvements.

Upcoming webinar on Drupal Canvas

We’re hosting another webinar as soon as Canvas reaches stability. This will likely be later this month (November 2025), but it could shift slightly depending on the release date.

During the session we’ll demo Canvas, explain key concepts and limitations, and show how our themes integrate with it. We’ll also cover some deeper technical topics around building components for Canvas.

Speaking at New England DrupalCamp

Next weekend I’ll be presenting The Future of Drupal Theming: AI, Drupal Canvas, and Beyond at New England DrupalCamp.

This session explores how to make your current theming practices compatible with the future of Drupal. I’ll cover how to handle images, structure your data, and prepare your components for what’s next.
